Tissue Winder Wrapper and Bundler Relocation
A tissue manufacturer wanted to streamline the outflow of their two production lines which required the relocation of existing packaging equipment and the installation of robotic palletising and wrapping. The product is firstly wrapped into a end user size packet and then bundled into a larger pack to aid in palletisation.
The project required the complete relocation of the wrapper and bundling machines for both lines into a different part of the factory and reconfiguring the conveyors between these machines to suit the new layout. Concentric Engineered Solutions responsibility was:
- Layout drawings for new & existing equipment.
- A survey of existing conveyors and layouts for the most economic reuse of existing conveyors, drives & components.
- Design & manufacture of new conveyor sections reusing as many of the components from the existing conveyors as possible. The new conveyors were predominantly curves and transition sections.
- Relocation & installation of 2 wrappers, 2 bundlers and interconnecting conveyors.
- Relocation of one of the machine’s log saws to enable product to come from the opposite side of the machine.
- Modification of cross over stair ways to suit the new conveyor layout.
- Completing all this work while maintaining the least amount of disruption to manufacturing processes which required the staging of machine relocation and commissioning.
