3D and 2D Design & Drafting
We utilize Solid Edge ST to generate 3D models of components and assemblies which are then developed into manufacturing drawings. We are the design & drawing office for a number of our clients. Specialties include:
We use AutoCAD software for 2D design & drafting. 2D drawings are what we cut our teeth on and these days mostly take the form of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, civil works plans and legacy drawing updates.

Project Management
Projects tackled range from small modifications of plant to more substantial projects. Some of the projects we have completed in the past include:
- Safety guarding and fully interlocked safety system to Cat 3 on a steel press line.
- Installation of a number of blown film lines.
- Capstan drive upgrade (see more details on the projects page).
- Installation of a 10 colour printing press including foundations, all mechanical & electrical services, compliance with HSNO for solvent containment, air discharge consents, etc.
- Installation of an extrusion coating die at a customer site in Sydney. Project included specifying & selection of die manufacturer, design & manufacture of die support & splitting components, electrical & mechanical design & installation, integration with existing web gauging system and PLC/SCADA upgrade.
- Relocation of an extrusion coating line from Melbourne to Sydney including civil, mechanical & electrical works as well as site close down in Melbourne.
- Installation of 800kVA sub-station transformer & switchboard upgrade at customer site in Sydney to accommodate relocated extrusion coating line.
- Installation of a trim extraction fan on a high speed winder which allowed a 50% increase in productivity.
- Implementation of electronic machine downtime collection system which enabled significant productivity improvements across client businesses in Auckland and Sydney.
Engineering Redesign & Manufacture
Our design & drafting skills have been used to re-design and re-engineer components to improve lifespan through the use of improved materials and manufacturing techniques. We have relationships with a large number of manufacturers & specialists in the following areas:
- Precision machining
- General fabrication and welding
- Laser cutting, folding and sheet metal services
- Metallurgical analysis of materials and heat treatment
- Engineering plastics
- Supply of a variety of local & overseas ready made components.
Automation
Industrial automation including SCADA, other HMI, PLC controls, servo applications, machine downtime collection and systems integration have all been managed by Concentric Engineered Solutions. Sophisticated automation work is done in conjunction with Control Techniques and other partners. Projects include:
- Servo driven pick & place units.
- PET bottle leak testers.
- Automatic lift safety chocks in a freezer.
- Cat 3 safety interlocks on machine guarding integrated with safety PLC.
