Machinery Relocation & Installation
We have undertaken a number of machinery dismantling, relocation and installation projects in the greater Auckland region in partnership with Machinery Relocations Ltd and Matched Ltd. The work is broadly split between the 3 parties in the following manner:
Some examples of this work are shown below:
- Concentric Engineered Solutions Ltd - Engineering design, factory layouts, site measurements, precision alignment and site supervision.
- Matched Ltd - Mechanical labour, disassembly, reassembly, fitting, welding and pipework.
- Machinery Relocations Ltd - Moving expertise including fork hoist supply, cranage and transport logistics including over dimensional loads and pilot vehicles.
Some examples of this work are shown below:
BLOWN FILM LINES DISMANTLING, RELOCATION & INSTALLATION
A customer wanted us to dismantle 2 blown film lines in Warkworth, relocate and then reassemble them in Hamilton. The equipment was dismantled in relatively large pieces which reduced the dismantling and re-installation time, but increased transportation costs with over dimensional loads and pilot vehicles. The equipment was dismantled in relatively large pieces which reduced the dismantling and re-installation time, but increased transportation costs with over dimensional loads and pilot vehicles. Challenges included:
- Lowering the bubble towers safely.
- Getting the equipment in the new site in Hamilton - the access from the road was not ideal and a section of the building was temporarily removed.
- Raising the towers in a confined space (approx. 70mm either side of towers to the building structure).
- Chinese fabricated steelwork out of square and alignment.
BLOWN FILM LINE INSTALLATION
A customer recently purchased a new blown film line from Macchi in Italy. Concentric Engineered Solutions was asked to project manage the assembly and installation of the blown film line, in particular the assembly of the 14m tower prior to the arrival of the Macchi commissioning engineer. This involved removing sections of the roof and lifting the upper section of of the tower with a 170 tonne mobile crane and then sliding the lower section underneath. Once the lower section was in the correct position the upper section was lowered into position and bolted to the lower section. See images and video of the project below.
